Part 1: Meet The Characters Of The Shadow Stalker Around Her

Skyla Davis

Skyla, the female MC of Dreame’s The Shadow Stalker Around Her, has been orphaned long before the novel’s story begins. Based on what I read in the introductory chapters, I sense that Skyla has been living in an entirely dark world.

Her fear of people constantly following her is the thing that darkens Skyla’s world in The Shadow Stalker Around Her novel. At the same time, love and hope are two things that are associated with the light of the world, and these two things motivate Skyla to keep on living her life.

Micheal

Micheal of The Shadow Stalker Around Her novel is one of the orphaned boys who grow up with Skyla in the same foster home. He appears supportive of Skyla, particularly in the first few chapters of the novel, and Skyla grows to love him.

However, as we read more portions of Dreame’s The Shadow Stalker Around Her novel, we get more pictures of Micheal’s hidden manipulative sides. I even think that he could be the character causing immense fears of being followed in Skyla’s psyche.

The Shadow Stalker Around Her is not just a romance novel; instead, it is a novel full of psychological effects. The stories are all about orphaned children living in foster homes. Skyla Davis and Micheal don’t only remain as the two children living under the care of a loving foster father; they also become the central characters of this Dreame novel.

Darkness becomes the only odd thing about the foster home’s life in The Shadow Stalker Around Her.

When I read the first few paragraphs of this novel’s prologue, I was confused: How could orphaned children growing up in such a loving environment experience darkness in their lives? Even Skyla, one of the children, has been living her life out of fear that people would always follow her… And that’s the dark element I find in this romance novel on the Dreame platform.

I understand the roots of Skyla’s fears (and possibly, other children in the same foster home, too) as soon as I turn the pages into the next few chapters of the novel. So, the orphaned children apparently are always alert of someone mysterious killing them randomly.

The polices would almost always find their friends’ dead bodies as soon as they catch “The Shadow Stalker Around Her” (and other children, too).

Skyla and Micheal’s foster father eventually meet the same tragedy. Also, Micheal begins to show his manipulative side. Skyla also finds herself tied to a psycho and mysterious stranger in The Shadow Stalker Around Her. In the end, who will Skyla choose as her romantic partner: The psycho one or the manipulative one?

Personally, I find The Shadow Stalker Around Her entertaining as a romance book. We’ve read enough romance with arranged marriages or some plain urban romances; yet, not many authors combine the suspenseful and psychological elements in a romance novel, and Ankita Kundu has done the job flawlessly.
