Unfortunately, being a warrior seems like an impossible thing for Mira in The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon manga. It’s not only because Mira’s appearance is too girly for a warrior. Mira also has the Mark of the Dark Ones that heavily restricts her freedom forever.
Everybody in the kingdom is aware of the mark; girls in The Selection always have them. After all, girls in The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon comic, including Mira, are treated as dolls a.k.a. properties for the dark lords.
Not only that the girls don’t have the right to reject the dark lords who are attracted to them and want to claim them. Miradora Freyn a.k.a. Mira is the female MC of Dreame’s The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon manga. Due to her impressive magic abilities, she gets the nickname of “Diamond”a.k.a. “Di” from her classmates in the Royal Academy of Magical Arts’ Faculty of Battle Magic, even though she wants to be a warrior instead.
Based on what I read in Dreame’s The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon, Mira’s desire to be a warrior represents her desire to be free of the dark lords. After all, this freedom-loving young lady is bothered by the Mark of the Dark Ones, which refers to her status as the lords’ property.
Derrien Derwood
Lord Derrien Derwood of the Gerdian Empire is the dark lord in The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon manga who shows Mira how The Selection works. He first met Mira when Mira was in the headmaster’s office and while the headmaster looks at Mira’s glowing magical mark.
Being a “guardian” and the most powerful dark lord, of course, Derrien possesses greater physical strengths and magical abilities than any of Mira’s friends in The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon. He may have a brief appearance, but I am sure he would be one of the influential characters later on.
Tristan Ragnard
Sir Tristan Ragnard, the Sapphire Knight of the Empire in The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon book, is the knight who supervises the ladies in some later chapters of the novel. He’s also Mira’s ex-fiancé the two were involved in an arranged marriage setting because their fathers are best friends.
I would say that Tristan is one of the most obnoxious characters in The Selection Bride Of The Dark Dragon. Even though he knows the rules for The Selection, and even though Mira doesn’t love him anymore, he seems to have difficulties in letting go of Mira.
