Vivienne Hawthorne

Chapter 1 – 2

In The Million-Dollar Heart novel Chapters 1 – 2 is where we see the first interaction of Vivienne and Percival. Vivienne just recently arrived from a long trip and the first destination she pursued was the cemetery where her mother was buried. As she stand over the grave, talking and reminiscing the last conversation she had with her mother, a ruckus broke out between a group of men in black and one man who appeared to be getting mobbed.

With an annoying look, she threw a small rock to the crowd, hitting the leader accurately on the head. The focus of the men shifted on her immediately. They launched an attack. But Vivienne, surprisingly, took them down before they could even lay a finger on her. Percival saw the entire scene and he was in awe. To say that he’s impressed would do little justice to the extreme wave of admiration that spiraled within him upon seeing that. Not only did Vivienne effortlessly scared the men away, Vivienne barely showed any fear as she deal with them.

Cut to Vivienne’s point of view. After kicking some ass and meeting Percival, she went straight to the mansion of the Hawthorn family. There, she alas reunited with the whole family but unfortunately, her presence didn’t earn the appreciation she deserved. Her grandmother was the first to object, implicating Arabella is the only granddaughter she had. Even going as far as forcing Vivienne to take the fall of Arabella’s tragic engagement. Vivienne expected it. Her adopted sister had done an exquisite job poisoning the old woman’s rusty mind. Not that she cared, though.

Chapter 7-8

Cut to The Million-Dollar Heart Chapters 7-8, Vivienne takes a stroll in the mall to shop several items for the new house they rented. After Dorian refused to give her up and persuade Vivienne to take the engagement, Beatrice—her grandmother—kicked the three out of them. This forced Vivienne to pull out the money she’s saved over the years she worked privately as a seller. As she exits the mall, she saw a kid convulsing on the floor, showing symptoms that are similar to what her mother showed after taking that particular poison. She immediately ushered Arabella away and aided the kid, giving her the pills she personally created.

The little girl miraculously recovered but she caught only a glimpse of Vivienne as she flee away. When Percival and his father arrived to check on the girl who turns out to be Percival’s little sister, Vivienne was already gone. No one can tell who exactly was the mysterious doctor, just that she’s a Hawthorn. Percival initially thought it was Arabella but as eventual investigation provided, it was Vivienne.
